Beth McDonald has a secret—a secret that is costing a lot of people their lives. With no
where to turn, she leaves her dream job in the city and heads for a small town in Texas
to a place where no one will find her. Tired of running, she turns to the sheriff for help
and soon finds herself fighting for more than just her life.

Sheriff Clint Fisher has his life just where he wants it—peaceful and happy. But when
the beautiful D.A. walks into his office, his world is turned upside down. The confident
sheriff is pretty sure he can keep her alive…but can he keep her forever?

Inspirational and suspense—what a great combination in Ms. Hall’s short novella,
Southern Comfort.

When you first meet Beth McDonald, you find she is a public defender hiding out in
Texas. The work she's been doing has made her calloused. She didn't seem to feel a
thing at what happened to her clients or the victims. She merely went through the
motions. Yet you don’t dislike Beth, you really have to feel for her situation. She’d left
New York cutting all ties. Not even her family knew where she was. It was safer that way.
She has a lot to overcome by the end of the story. Her safety, her soul and her heart.

Sherriff Clint Fischer is attracted to Beth from the moment she walks into his office but
he is even more intrigued by the story she tells of her past in NY and the people who
might be after her. Or is it all in her mind. At first glance, Clint doesn’t seem much
different than any other small town Texas sheriff, but as the story progresses his true
character unfolds with his quirks, his faith, his hurts and his desires.

Ms. Hall's writing is sharp and clean. She writes an intriguing short romantic suspense
(which isn't easy to do) and within it she intertwines an inspirational of faith and trust. If I
had to list a disappointment, it would be that I wished the author had slowed down and
given more time to the romance and the suspense. Even so—it was very well done. A
great short read.

Beth McDonald had put her career in front of the rest of her life. Now, after what she
had been through emotionally, she was not sure that was the best. She had moved to
this small town from NYC and tried to forget her past but she was starting to get phone
calls from NYC. It was definitely time to tell someone what was going on. She decided to
talk to the sheriff, Clint Fisher, and explains her dire situation.
Clint had been divorced for several years after his wife decided she liked someone else
more. He vowed to never again give his heart or love. When Beth walked into his office,
he was struck by the reaction he had to her. When she told him her story, he didn’t want
to believe it. It sounded like a horror story and he hoped she wasn’t really going through
the pain and danger she was describing to him. He soon found out that she was living a
nightmare.
Ms. Theresa Lynn Hall has written a heart-stopping drama about the mafia and those
who seriously wanted to cover up illegal actions. I don’t normally enjoy true suspense
novels. However, this was a nail-biting, well written book. It flowed smoothly, its
characters were well believed, and the story, while short, was packed with information. It
definitely doesn’t read as a shorter novel.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes good romantic suspense. It’s a great read!

Review: Faith filled, fast paced with a bit of suspense :)

Ms Hall has penned an interesting story that hits the heart of renewing faith when things
get down. Complications throw these two together and sparks fly. The faith filled sheriff
renews Beth's belief in Him and what the power of worship can do for a person.

I can't wait to see what this author has coming next :)
